Repairing Damaged PowerPoint Presentations

February 16, 2010

A PowerPoint presentation displays unusual or weird behavior when it is corrupt. Its corruption generates the possibility of data inaccessibility or loss, as in most cases a damaged presentation refuses to open. In such a situation, the inaccessible data can only be accessed if you have maintained its backup. But, there is no need to worry if there is no backup, as an effective ppt recovery software can repair the presentation and retrieve all the data from the presentation.

Solving the issue:
Try the following troubleshooting methods to solve the issue:

Try to open the presentation in Windows Safe mode, since system conflict at times prevents the presentation from opening.
Try dragging the PowerPoint presentation to the PowerPoint program file.
Check if the presentation can be opened in Microsoft Windows Explorer.
Insert the slides into a blank presentation.
You may be able to open the temporary file by saving the .tmp file (with the same name) as .ppt file.
See if the presentation opens in PowerPoint Viewer.
Try opening the presentation in another system.
Try moving the presentation to another disk.
Use Scan Disk tool.

If any of these measures works, then you will be able to open your presentation and give your best in the practical examination. However, in contrary, if these measures do not provide much assistance, then you need to perform PowerPoint Recovery using a PowerPoint Repair software. This task is done when the software employs its powerful repair algorithms. Also, the application does not change or alter any data or settings of the file while repairing or restoring.
